MISCA Activities

Each of us are touched by the people and events in all corners of the world. As partners in a global community, we need to understand and work with our neighbors towards peace and cooperation. With an active sister-city program, our members have many opportunities to get involved in community and cultural activities, and volunteering.

MISCA achieves this by sponsoring cultural, educational, sporting, artistic and other interest group exchanges between Minneapolis and Ibaraki City. Exchanges help us learn and appreciate other cultures, societies, and histories.

Inter-city student exchange activities include "pen pal" letter writing, art exchanges between school students, music and video recording exchanges, haiku, speech and art contests.

By participating in sister city activities and sharing of cultures, we make new friends, and gain insight to the world around us.
